Bio

Tina Loranger AKA Tinah is what you might call a late bloomer. The Toronto-born singer/songwriter was raised in nearby Mississauga but didn’t realize her calling in music until one day in late October 2009. A light bulb went on after reading her horoscope and she quit her career to focus on honing her songwriting skills.

Growing up, Tinah played the piano classically in a household that valued education over artistic endeavours so her musical interests were sidelined early on.

Tinah’s background in piano helped give her an edge once she discovered she could sing too. Since then she’s been refining her style while focusing on delivering strong, emotional and impactful vocal performances.

Power vocalists such as Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston are a few of the classic influences Tinah draws on but Top 40 of the last decade plays an equally large role for her.

High-energy music that makes people want to dance is where Tinah feels at home but she also has a soft spot for the occasional strong, emotional ballad.

Notable performances include singing for the Honourable Mayor Hazel McCallion; King’s Theatre at Wonderland, Fairchild TV’s annual singing competition broadcasted live across Canada and The Royal Ontario Museum.

Recently, Tinah became the Grand Prize Winner in the Pop category for the 2016 Session 1 John Lennon Songwriting Competition. She is also a Finalist in the 2016 Unsigned Only Music Competition.

Tinah is currently working on her EP set to be released in late 2017.
